Why We Started NutraWag

It started with Cali—and too many trips to the vet.

We found ourselves constantly reacting to health issues instead of preventing them. We wanted to take a more proactive approach to her well-being, the same way we do for ourselves with supportive supplements.

But when we started looking, we realized something frustrating: the pet supplement industry didn't hold itself to the same standards we'd expect for human supplements. We know that quality varies wildly in the human supplement world—some products are exceptional, others are barely functional. For pets, that highest tier simply didn't exist.

So we built it ourselves.

NutraWag was born from the belief that our pets deserve the same transparency, the same clinical dosing, and the same rigorous quality standards that the best human supplements offer. Because Cali—and your pet—deserves nothing less.

Good Quality Natural Ingredients and Canadian Made.

I am using this as a preventative measure, rather than to treat my dog for any such conditions. Therefore it's difficult to testify to any kind of success, other than to say there have been no symptoms of any urinary issues before or since taking this product. However, I can say that he seems to like the scent and flavour of it, so there's no hardship on his part in taking it. I'm very happy with the all natural ingredients and that it is manufactured here in Canada. A couple of things to note; It must be kept refrigerated after opening. It does tell you this (see pic) but I feel the instruction is buried amongst other details and it should be a stand alone statement written a little more boldly to avoid spoiling the product. Secondly, if you give this to your dog during the winter months, expect to see a darker and brighter coloured pee staining in the snow! Not a sign of a sudden issue with your dog (although monitor it, or cease for a day or two to check, in case of a coincidental timing) but the treatment passing through his system. Similar to how certain pills or medicines can affect humans in the same way. Unlikely it will show up very well otherwise but worth noting, I feel.

Obviously not a substitute for seeking veterinary advice, particularly in more severe cases of urinary issues. It is a decent quality product with natural ingredients that I am happy to use for preventative measures or at first sign of milder symptoms, though.

So Far So Good

I picked this up for my senior dog who occasionally shows early signs of an oncoming UTI, which isn't uncommon at her age. My goal was to be proactive and hopefully stop things before they escalate. It's only been under a week of using it, but so far, so good.

What I really appreciate about this product is the transparency. There are no vague proprietary blends, every ingredient and its exact amount per 1mL dropper is clearly listed. That gives me a lot more confidence in what I'm actually giving her. The formula itself makes sense too, with D-Mannose, cranberry, dandelion, nettle, and cornsilk all working together to support urinary health. I was previously giving her Cranberry, dandelion and nettle, but all separately in different forms. It's nice to have them all together.

It's also made in Canada to human supplement standards, which matters to me. Knowing it's produced in a certified GMP facility and notified under the VHP program adds an extra layer of trust.

My dog can be picky with supplements, but I mix this into a little peanut butter she gets after dinner and she doesn't seem to notice at all. The bacon flavour must help, because there's been zero resistance.

Overall, I'm really happy with it so far. It feels thoughtfully formulated, well made, and easy to incorporate into a daily routine. If it continues working the way it has this first week, it'll definitely stay in rotation.

Canadian Made Natural Supplement for Dogs

Here is a reminder: this is not a medication, and it is not meant to cure UTI or similar health issues. This is a supplement to support urinary tract and bladder health.

NutraWag is a Canadian brand based in Vancouver. I like their product development philosophy. Instead of devising a "proprietary" blend NutraWag opted for transparency. It lists every ingredients used in the supplement so you know what you are giving your pup. No mystery potions and no surprises.

The ingredients used are human grade and of high concentration. For example, the cranberry extract used is of 50:1 concentration. High concentration leads to less quantity required for each dose.

The product is made in a GMP compliant facility and it is a part of the Government of Canada VHP program. Veterinary Health Products notification program is a government-managed process that helps companies comply with the the rules for importing and selling VHPs for animals in Canada.

Each of the ingredients (dandelion, nettle, cornsilk and cranberry) are all available individually as supplements but having all four together in a bottle means convenience and cost savings.

The pup loves the flavour of the supplement and she needs a couple of drops a day. A bottle should last her 4 weeks. The key takeaway is to consult with the vet and follow their instructions on the length of use.

Recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Many pet supplements hide multiple ingredients inside a "proprietary blend," listing only a total weight. That makes it impossible to know whether key ingredients are properly dosed—or sprinkled in tiny amounts. We list every ingredient amount per mL, so your dog gets the same consistent, transparent formula every time.

It means we use plant ingredients that have been gently concentrated so you get more of the plant's naturally occurring compounds in a smaller amount—rather than needing a large dose of plain dried herb. For example, "Cranberry 50:1 extract" means 50 parts cranberry are used to produce 1 part extract, so we can provide cranberry's naturally occurring compounds in a small, easy-to-serve amount.

Every dog is different. Many pet parents notice changes with consistent daily use over 1–3 weeks, especially when used as part of a regular wellness routine. Consistent daily use for 30+ days delivers maximum efficacy.

Yes—our formulas use 100% human-grade ingredients and are made in a Canadian GMP-certified facility. We're registered as a Veterinary Health Product. However, if your dog has any existing health conditions or is on medication, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian first.
